Join a World Labyrinth Day Walk in Arizona

May 7, 2022 is the fourteenth global annual Labyrinth Walk for Peace. Join us as we create a wave of peace throughout the world and become a part of something bigger than you.

The “Labyrinth Effect”

It is known that walking a labyrinth produces a set of physical responses (increased calm, quiet, and relaxation; decreased agitation, anxiety, and stress) that allows for the emergence of a set of “state of mind” responses (increased levels of centeredness, clarity, openness, peace, and reflection). In turn, these “state of mind” responses might increase one’s receptivity to flashes of intuition, hunches, nudges from one’s “inner voice,” and other types of insight regarding one’s problems, issues or concerns. Visitors to Church of the Palms can walk for peace May 7.
Thirteen years ago, the Labyrinth Society had a vision of a “Wave of Peace” going around the world as labyrinth walkers band together for peace. Each year the event has grown and last year there were 10,000 walkers across the globe.
World Labyrinth Day is the first Saturday of May, so this year it will be Saturday, May 7, and the hours for the walk at Church of the Palms, 14808 N. Boswell Blvd., are 9 a.m. to noon.
The chartres labyrinth has a peace pole in the center, a constant reminder to walk for peace, and the labyrinths at the Palms are available anytime.
Attendants will be at the labyrinth May 7 to greet and assist any walker needing help. Cold water will be available for walkers.
This event will be from 10:00-12:00 on May 7 th at Foothills Christian Church, 3951 West Happy Valley Road . It will include learning several new ways to walk a labyrinth, live music, craft options, a pizza truck, and, of course, walking the labyrinth however one prefers. Our labyrinth is wheelchair accessible and located adjacent to a parking lot in a beautiful desert garden. Click Here To Go Foothills Disciples of Christ

For those not able to attend, the labyrinth is available and free to the public during daylight hours, weather and traffic permitting.
